Development Engineer

Development Engineer - Peterborough (Hybrid) - Up to £40/hr - Inside IR35

Jonathan Lee Recruitment is helping one of the world’s leading manufacturers of off-highway machinery and diesel and natural gas engines find a Development Engineer, and the hybrid role comes with a contract rate of £40.00 per hour.

As a Development Engineer in the team, you will be expected to have relevant development experience, knowledge of IC engines and be able to lead, plan and execute challenging tasks and projects. Tasks will include:

• Execution of Core Engine System validation activities.
• New product development technical issue resolution.
• Conducting FMEA on components and systems to identify and address design risks and determine validation needs.
• Plan and execute validation tests.
• Conducting component and system design reviews.

To apply for this Development Engineer role, your soft skills, expertise and experience should include:

• Technical background (HNC or technical degree preferred in mechanical or automotive engineering) though other qualifications or experience are equally valued.
• Knowledge in a minimum of one or more of the following Core Engine systems: Rotating Systems, Valvetrain, Castings, Lubrication, Breather and Cooling systems, Bolted joint and sealing experience.
• Good understanding of Manufacturing principles & processes.
• Knowledge of industrial engines in diesel or alternative fuel operation.
• 8D problem solving, Creation and Maintenance of DVP&R and FMEA’s.
