As a Digital and Social Media Specialist, you will play a vital role in driving the development of digital content to effectively communicate the work of our client, the Oversight Board. Reporting to the Head of Content & Editorial, your storytelling skills and experience in producing social media content on complex societal or technology issues will be put to use. Your ability to create engaging written content will accurately present and explain our client's work to the public, policymakers, researchers, and other communities.

Responsibilities for this role will include:

  • Developing and executing a strategy for communicating the work of our client across various social media channels
  • Organising and hosting digital events, such as LinkedIn Lives, to amplify key announcements
  • Managing social media channels and coordinating social events to enhance our client's announcements reach
  • Overseeing paid social media campaigns to promote the Board's work
  • Managing, updating, and developing our client's new website
  • Providing brand and design support for the Oversight Board
  • Leveraging social media opportunities to engage with stakeholders
  • Assisting with digital engagement support and digital communications, such as newsletters
  • Monitoring campaigns and social media activities, analysing data, and proposing improvements
  • Managing external support, including freelancers and contractors involved in website development
  • Onboarding and managing Hubspot, including uploading case announcements and supporting other teams during the transition
  • Assisting with reactive communications needs, including crafting external messaging and content to support rapid response efforts.

To excel in this role, you should possess excellent spoken and written communication skills, with a track record of translating complex issues into engaging content for diverse audiences. Your creative talent and expertise as a social media user will be put to use in managing our client's platforms and growing and engaging audiences. Proficiency with Adobe Suite, particularly Photoshop, is preferred but not essential.

We are looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, able to manage multiple projects, priorities, and stakeholders simultaneously. Your experience in communicating challenging issues related to technology and society, coupled with your enthusiasm for the evolving technology and content moderation landscape, will make you a valuable addition to our team.
