Scrum Master - Agile Project Delivery

Location: Berkshire Local Authority
Contract: 3 to 6 months, with possibility of extension
Payrate: £400.00 per day, inside IR35
Work Arrangement: Hybrid (1 day a week in the office)

About the Role:

Local authority in Berkshire is seeking a skilled Scrum Master to enhance our Agile project delivery capability. This role is pivotal in coordinating multidisciplinary teams to build exciting new capabilities for the council. You will interact with both internal and external project managers and ensure the effective delivery of projects using Agile methodologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams for software and hardware projects.
  • Ensure smart delivery of the backlog, maintaining optimal velocity.
  • Report backlog performance at various organizational levels.
  • Collaborate with business analysts and service designers.
  • Communicate successes using various styles and channels.
  • Execute backlog grooming, daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint demos, and retrospectives.
  • Meet milestones and deadlines throughout project lifecycles.
  • Remove project obstacles and develop solutions with team members and stakeholders.
  • Build key relationships with Product Owners and provide vital status updates.
  • Document and communicate progress and external blockers to upper management and stakeholders.
  • Plan and estimate in Agile framework to fulfill the requirements backlog.
  • Act as a Scrum Master for 1-2 Scrum teams, working on multiple concurrent projects.
  • Embed an Agile way of working and coach teams to achieve their goals.
  • Take ownership of successful project delivery.

About You:

  • Recognised Agile certification and Scrum Master certification.
  • 2-3 years of experience running multiple scrum teams.
  • Ability to run DevOps, preferably using Azure DevOps.
  • Instinctive understanding of group dynamics.
  • Broad toolkit of facilitation, training, and coaching techniques.
  • Demonstrable business acumen and knowledge of enterprise-level functions and processes.
  • Strong communication (both verbal and written) and stakeholder management skills.
