Director of Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning

Location: South East England
Salary: £90,000 - £100,000

Our client, a leader in innovative solutions, is seeking a highly accomplished Director of AI & Machine Learning with 5+ years of experience. This senior leadership role involves developing robust AI-driven solutions and leading large data science teams to drive innovation and business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage AI and machine learning projects across various sectors, including Private/Public Sectors Consumer Goods & Retail, Private Equity, and Financial Services / Insurance, Contact Center technologies, SaaS,
  • Develop scalable, automated data science products.
  • Drive the strategic direction for AI and machine learning initiatives.
  • Mentor and lead a team of data scientists and AI professionals.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate AI solutions into business processes.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage AI and machine learning projects across various sectors, including Market Research, Consumer Goods & Retail, Private Equity, and Financial Services.
- Develop scalable, automated data science products.
- Drive the strategic direction for AI and machine learning initiatives.
- Mentor and lead a team of data scientists and AI professionals.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate AI solutions into business processes.

Qualifications:
- Solid educational background: 2:1 and above BSc and up to PhD in relevant fields (computational statistics, machine learning, etc.)
- Extensive experience with machine learning and data science techniques.
- Proficiency in Python, PySpark, TypeScript/JavaScript, R, SQL, Git, and Docker.
- Expertise in frameworks and libraries such as PyTorch, sci-kit-learn, LangChain, LlamaIndex, and HuggingFace.
- Experience with cloud platforms, including Azure (ML/AI Studio), AWS (Sagemaker & Bedrock), and GCP (Vertex AI).
- Knowledge of models such as OpenAI GPT-4, Anthropic Claude-3 Opus, Google Gemin

Skills:

  • Advanced understanding of Large Language Models (LLMs), Natural Language Processing (NLP), Supervised and Unsupervised Machine Learning, and Time Series Analysis.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Proven track record in building and deploying AI solutions.
