My client is small but ambitious Multi Academy Trust, looking to make the key appointment of a Director of Finance to provide strong financial leadership across the Trust.

The primary focus of this key leadership role will be to control the financial management and statutory requirements ensuring the smooth operation of the Trust’s day-to-day financial activities. The Director of Finance will be responsible for the overall development and implementation of strategy, critiquing current processes, procedures and advocating controls and budget responsibility to senior staff.  You will keep abreast of funding and legislative changes within the sector and will provide the Board of Trustees with strategic financial information to enable them to make informed financial decisions. The Director of Finance will guide and mentor the central finance function, ensuring all systems are up-to-date and reporting is timely and in line with required annual financial returns. You will monitor financial performance and will drive change within the finance operation of the Trust.  

The successful candidate will be fully qualified (ACCA, ACA, CIMA or equivalent) with a strong business acumen and broad experience of the nuances of working within the academy sector at a senior finance level. The role will work closely with the CEO and will be a key person on the executive team and will make a significant contribution in setting the direction of strategic development across the MAT.
