Director of Governance & DPO - About the Role:

As the Director of Governance & DPO, you will hold a senior position within the Corporation, reporting directly to the Chair of the Corporation for governance matters and the Principal & CEO for data protection responsibilities. This unique, stand-alone role requires a highly professional individual with the capability to promote and uphold the highest standards of governance and data protection within the organisation.

Director of Governance & DPO - Key Responsibilities:

  • Governance:
  • Provide independent advice on legal and ethical issues affecting the Corporation.
  • Prepare Board agendas, minutes, and action plans.
  • Ensure the Corporation operates within its legal powers and evaluate its governance effectiveness.
  • Data Protection:
  • Ensure compliance with GDPR and other data protection laws.
  • Develop and maintain data protection policies.
  • Manage data breaches and handle FOI requests.

Director of Governance & DPO - What We’re Looking For:

  • A relevant degree or professional qualification.
  • Experience in governance and knowledge of data protection legislation.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to provide unbiased, impartial advice.
