Director of Operations and Business Development - UAE

An independent government entity based in the UAE that works closely with defence and security agencies in the Middle East, is looking to hire a Director of Operations and Business Development.

This role requires a blend of operational excellence and strong business acumen to identify growth opportunities and implement strategies.

Operations:

• Overseeing the day-to-day operations, ensuring the efficient running of various business units in compliance with regulatory standards.
• Developing operational strategies to streamline processes and enhance productivity across all departments.
• Effectively managing facility and construction projects, ensuring timely completion and quality control.
• Establishing metrics to measure operational performance and implement continuous improvement initiatives.

Business Development:

• Developing and executing strategic business plans to penetrate new markets, acquire new customers and expand the company's footprint, particularly within the free zone sector.
• Cultivating and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, suppliers and regulatory bodies.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or related field (a Master's degree is preferred).
• Must be an Emirati national.
• More than 10 years of experience in operations management, with at least 5 years in a management role.
• Proven experience in operations management and business development, preferably in the free zone sector.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing business priorities.
