The Role: Account Director Sustainability
The Team: The Account Director Sustainability plays a critical role in both deepening our sustainability relationships with existing clients and expanding our market coverage. Specifically, the Account Director coverage team is focused on understanding holistically the sustainability needs of clients across Financial Institution and Corporate segments, and coordinating across all S&P Divisions to deliver a coherent suite of solutions to support their sustainability ambitions. In addition, this team proactively engages with a range of market participants to expand our visibility across these sectors, focusing on intermediaries and influencers to Financial Institution and Corporate clients for our suite of solutions. This individual will be responsible for defining and delivering on the strategy for a defined territory and existing book of business.
The Impact: In this role, reporting to the Europe Lead for Account Directors, you will have the opportunity to work on global, multi-stakeholder deals, engaging with a diverse range of companies within a defined territory. Notably, you will proactively seek out new relationships with stakeholders across all relevant departments within financial institutions and corporates to transform the interactions that S&P Global has with the industry on sustainability. You will thrive in dynamic environments that require an ability to navigate complex client relationships as well as complex internal organizational structures.

Responsibilities: - This role will work in partnership with the marketing and business line leaders to establish clear, customer-oriented value propositions for the entire suite of sustainability solutions targeting our clients.
- This role will collaborate with essential stakeholders within Sustainable1, including Client Engagement, Sales, Marketing, and Market Insights, to develop a comprehensive territory plan aimed at achieving commercial success.
- You will engage closely with colleagues from other divisions who share mutual clients and aligned commercial goals, such as the Market Intelligence Sales and Account Management Teams, as well as the Commodity Insights Energy Transition Sales and Account Management Teams.
- You will be accountable for driving the commercial success of S&P's sustainability offerings in the defined territory, which encompasses territory planning, relationship development, and managing the entire account management cycle with support from other Sustainable1 colleagues while fostering collaboration across the organization.
- Assume a long-term, integrated perspective while also driving attainment of monthly and quarterly revenue results, including short-term results, revenue forecasts.
- Identify opportunities to drive top line/revenue growth of the business by leveraging existing products and integrating customer feedback and intelligence from the market. Strong focus on cross-sell opportunities with other commercial leads.
- Accountable for improving the individual customer experience, and achievement of retention targets.
- Stay well-connected with customers and the market to ensure that broad market needs are being incorporated into product development.
- Take a leadership approach to communicating our sustainability value proposition and market leadership to the industry customers and potential partners. Actively participate in industry conferences and events, engage with influencers, and thought leaders, and act as an S&P Global brand ambassador.
- Grow a defined book of business, consisting of existing accounts.
- Manage multiple, complex projects simultaneously.
?? What We're Looking For: - Must speak English fluently, in addition fluent in other languages a distinct advantage.
- Must be able to understand and clearly communicate the company vision and the revenue strategy across all relevant functions and ensure the right goals are defined and met.
- Experience in Sustainability and/or SaaS enterprise sales or account management with a focus on solution selling and large ticket deals.
- Proven track record of retaining business successfully within Corporates and Financial Institutions.
- Understanding of how to collect and leverage customer, market, and competitive intelligence.
- Exceptional communication skills and experience working within a global matrix environment.
- Ability to translate diverse customer needs into product and service requirements, and the leadership to create and execute the account support strategy to capitalize on these opportunities.
- Well-balanced strategic and operational mindset. Strong discipline around long-term planning as well as near-term pipeline tools and reporting.
- Ability to make difficult decisions and set priorities based on imperfect information.
- Strong technical experience with Salesforce, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, and other commercial tools.
- Strong negotiation skills to close strategic deals.
- Willingness to approach every problem as an entrepreneur with grit, creativity, and persistence.
- Exceptional presentation, storytelling, and interpersonal skills with an Executive audience.
- Excellent collaboration skills and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders.
