The Opportunity:
Nigel Wright Group has been appointed to lead the search for a mechanical engineering client based in the South East, to secure a new Export Distribution Sales Manager.  The Company is headquartered in Japan, with a European headquarters in the UK and is experiencing strong growth across its markets.  It sells technical engineering solutions into a variety of sectors, including aerospace parts manufacturers, rail, automotive component manufacturers, electronic parts manufacturers and battery manufacturers amongst others. 

Role Profile:
  • Implementing the commercial strategy for the UK & Europe.
  • Establishing new and maintaining key existing distributor relationships in the UK and Europe.
  • Negotiating and agreeing tender and contract terms.
  • Managing and developing the direct customer base.
  • Drawing up specifications in conjunction with customers and / or distributors.
  • Preparing technical and commercial proposals, including carrying out calculations.
  • Regular customer visits across the European territory.
  • Representing the Company at trade shows and other industry functions.
  • Providing training and support materials for distributors and their sales teams.
  • Delivering presentations and product demonstrations.
  • Engaging with internal technical experts as appropriate.
  • Providing after-sales support and technical assistance to customers as appropriate.

Person Specification:
  • B2B engineering sector export sales experience.
  • A mechanical engineering academic background would be preferable.
  • A track record of working successfully in a distribution route to market.
  • Commutable to Cambridgeshire 2-3 days per week.
  • Comfortable with regular European travel.
