Role Summary:
We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Registered Children’s Manager to oversee the care and wellbeing of children within our residential homes in Warrington. The successful candidate will embody a proactive leadership style, managing daily operations while ensuring compliance with all relevant guidelines, including OFSTED standards. Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational Leadership: Take charge of the operations for two residential homes, ensuring the highest standards of safety and care for all residents.
  • Staff Management: Guide and supervise the staff, conducting regular performance evaluations and fostering professional development opportunities.
  • Care Plans and Risk Assessments: Regularly review and update care plans and risk assessments to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Team Coordination: Facilitate regular team meetings and service reviews to ensure seamless communication and collaboration within the team.
  • Medication Oversight: Ensure safe medication administration and adherence to all applicable guidelines and protocols.
  • Performance Monitoring: Maintain high housekeeping and hygiene standards while overseeing staff performance.
  • Administrative Management: Efficiently handle administrative responsibilities and ensure all records are accurate and compliant with regulations.
  • Childcare Planning Engagement: Actively participate in childcare planning meetings to support individual care needs.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Uphold compliance with data protection, confidentiality, and human rights legislation.
  • After-Hours Support: Provide management support through a rotational system, ensuring operational effectiveness at all times.
  • Promote Equality and Diversity: Foster a culture of inclusivity and diversity throughout all aspects of care and staff management.
  • Recruitment and Development: Assist in hiring processes and support staff training and development, addressing performance challenges as necessary.
  • Continuous Professional Development: Commit to your own ongoing professional growth through supervision, training, and relevant opportunities.
  • Inspection Preparedness: Aid in preparing for internal and external audits, inspections, and compliance assessments.
  • Transportation Duties: Utilize your vehicle to transport children to appointments, family visits, and other necessary activities.

Unique Dual Registration Feature:
This role includes dual registration responsibilities, broadening your scope of duties and enhancing career development opportunities along with your earning potential.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications: Level 5 qualification in Residential Childcare or an equivalent (preferred NVQ Level 5).
  • Experience: At least 2 years in a residential childcare environment, including a minimum of 1 year in a supervisory capacity.
  • Driving License: A valid UK driving license and access to your own vehicle is required.
  • Leadership Capability: Proven ability to lead teams, implement policies, and effectively manage staff performance.
  • Knowledge Base: Comprehensive understanding of care plans, safeguarding practices, and OFSTED compliance.
  • Adaptability: Must be flexible to navigate the dynamic nature of children's services.
