About the Role
Are you passionate about developing the next generation of mechatronics talent? We’re looking for an experienced and inspiring Learning & Development Coach to deliver high-quality vocational training within one of the UK’s leading defence and engineering organisations. Based at our cutting-edge facilities in Samlesbury, this hybrid role supports learners in developing the technical skills, behaviours, and confidence they need to excel in mechatronics engineering roles.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver engaging and practical training in mechatronics principles, including mechanical systems, electrical/electronic systems, control systems, and automation.
Support the design and delivery of innovative blended learning materials tailored to a technical audience.
Provide one-to-one coaching, mentoring, and workplace support to help learners apply their knowledge in real-world settings.
Monitor learner progress, provide feedback, and assess performance against engineering and vocational standards.
Encourage a growth mindset and promote problem-solving and critical thinking through hands-on activities.
Ensure all learning meets internal quality benchmarks and complies with external apprenticeship frameworks and regulatory standards.
Essential Skills & Experience
Proven experience delivering vocational or apprenticeship training in mechatronics, engineering, or a related technical field.
Strong knowledge of mechatronic systems including mechanical, electrical, and software integration.
Skilled in learner engagement, coaching, and mentoring within technical environments.
Familiar with learning frameworks, assessments, and industry-recognised standards (e.g., EAL, City & Guilds, or similar).
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a learner-first mindset.
Committed to personal development and lifelong learning.
Desirable
Recognised teaching or assessing qualification (e.g., PTLLS, AET, TAQA).
Experience delivering STEM apprenticeships or work-based programmes in the defence, aerospace, or advanced manufacturing sectors.
Strong industry background in mechatronics, automation, or control systems.
