Accelerate Teaching is delighted to present an exciting opportunity for an experienced EBD (Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties) Teacher to join a dedicated team at a reputable Special Needs School in Wakefield. This is a fantastic chance to make a significant impact on the lives of young people, starting in September 2024.

We are seeking a passionate and skilled professional who is committed to supporting children with EBD, helping them overcome their challenges, and guiding them towards a brighter future. The ideal candidate will have a robust understanding of emotional and behavioural difficulties, coupled with the creativity and resilience needed to engage and inspire students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement tailored learning plans to meet the individual needs of students.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and engagement.
  • Use a range of teaching strategies and resources to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback and adjusting strategies as necessary.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and external agencies to ensure a holistic approach to student development.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with school policies and procedures.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in EBD education.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Proven experience working with children with emotional and behavioural difficulties.
  • Strong understanding of the challenges faced by students with EBD and strategies to support their learning and development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
