Position Overview:

My client is seeking a Fee Earner at or near LAA Supervisor status in Community Care and/or Education. The ideal candidate will have knowledge and experience across a broad range of cases in Education, Health, and Social Care.

Key Responsibilities:
• Manage a diverse caseload in community care, including transitions from children to adult services.
• Advise on issues related to mental capacity.
• Work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Self-supervise to ensure high-quality service delivery.

Requirements:
• Demonstrated experience in community care casework, particularly in transitions from children to adult services.
• Knowledge of mental capacity issues.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Self-supervision skills.

Desirable:
• Meets LAA supervisor requirements for the Community Care and/or Education legal aid contract.
• Experience in the Court of Protection, including independently managing a caseload.
• Familiarity with NHS Continuing Healthcare (CHC) policies and procedures for adults and children.
• Understanding of community care and public law issues arising from education cases.
• Experience in providing education advice and tribunal representation.
• Knowledge of deputyship applications and Lasting Powers of Attorney (LPAs).
• Experience supervising team members.
• Relevant professional qualification (e.g., solicitor, FILEX) or working towards the same.
• Established professional contacts, ability to bring in own cases, and willingness to market the firm’s high-quality services.
