ELEARNING SUPPORT OFFICER
Salary: Grade 5 £30,487 to £34,980 per annum, depending on relevant experience Hours: 35 hours per week
Duration: Fixed Term for 12 months
Location: Manchester - On Site- Monday-Friday
Job Specification
Role Overview: Support the eLearning Manager in developing innovative e-learning activities, resources, and support services for the Library and central support services. Develop e-learning materials to enhance student experiences and maintain responsibility for the online elements of the Library's skills programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop high-quality eLearning resources with the eLearning Technologist(s).
- Advise staff on using technology in teaching, learning, and assessment.
- Support the Teaching, Learning, and Students team to deliver customer-focused services.
- Assist staff with using the University's digital learning environment (DLE).
- Participate in the University-wide eLearning network.
- Contribute to reports on eLearning activities.
- Engage in continuing professional development.
- Ensure compliance with University policies, including health and safety, equality, diversity, inclusion, and information governance.
- Work at any Library site and be flexible with working hours as required.
- Wear Library-branded clothing.
Person Specification:
Essential:
- Experience in developing learner-focused materials/activities.
- Understanding of planning, designing, developing, testing, and evaluating eLearning resources.
- Awareness of online learning pedagogy and effective teaching practices.
- Collaborative working skills with subject matter experts and staff.
- Ability to resolve problems independently.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of HTML and CSS.
- Commitment to professional development.
- Experience in eLearning projects and using learning software/web applications.
Desirable:
- Knowledge of instructional design/pedagogy for eLearning.
- Experience with Blackboard Learn or similar LMS/VLE.
- User experience/accessibility design or testing.
- Video and audio production skills.
- Experience in coding (JavaScript or other scripting languages
