A large engineering company who design, manufacture and install electrical equipment are looking to recruit an Electrical Design Engineer to join their team.  

As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will be designing the electrical elements of electric motors of varying power and sizes. The work will be diverse covering the initial aspects of the design, manufacturing capability, through to repair and maintenance.

You will be working on designs of components such as stators, rotor components and complete machines.

Main responsibilities of Electrical Design Engineer:

  • Electrical design of rotating electrical machinery and components  
  • Experience of designing equipment to be used in harsh environments
  • Perform CAD design on complex components
  • Root cause analysis of failed machinery
  • Compile repair instructions for failed equipment
  • Assisting tendering and project management teams

Experience / qualifications required 

  • Minimum 5 years relevant experience in an electrical design based role
  • Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering
  • Understanding of machinery and its design for manufacture
  • Knowledge of low and medium voltage electric motors, up to 150kW
  • 3D CAD skills
