Calling all Electrical Design Engineers!

Blueprint Recruitment have an amazing new opportunity for a seasoned Electrical Design Engineer to join a leading multi-disiplinary consultancy in Manchester, outside IR35. This fantastic position requires the successful candidate to operate on a hybrid basis, attending the office 2-3 days per week to work on a variety of exciting Healthcare projects.

Our client is a multidisciplinary consultancy providing sustainable solutions to meet the planning, engineering design and project delivery needs of the property, infrastructure, environment and energy markets. The company has grown into a leading engineering and environmental consultancy with offices throughout the UK and internationally.

Key responsibilities

  • Design and specification of all Electrical Building Services systems - power, earthing, lighting, life safety, telecoms, security, access control, lifts, lightning protection etc.
  • Undertakes a client facing role in the development and design and coordination of engineering project services for mechanical installations, systems, equipment, facilities.
  • Managing own workload, updating forward plan of workload regularly and working to time allocations.
  • Carry out the production of detailed calculations using industry standard software tools including Excel, Amtech, Dialux/Relux, in-house developed tools.
  • Checking the design work of fellow team members and external designers in accordance with departmental procedures.
  • Preparing conceptual designs with a view to ensuring safe, practical, and economic solutions in accordance with current standards.

Key requirements

  • Degree qualified, or equivalent qualification, in Building Services Engineering / Electrical Engineering or related subjects.
  • Complex project experience required, including stage 3 and 4 Healthcare experience (Ideal).
  • Good level of computer literacy in a range of digital tools including Amtech/Prodesign, Dialux/Relux, NBS and Microsoft packages. Any HV tools will also be beneficial.
  • Awareness of the principles of building physics such as passive design solutions and fabric first approaches.
