Location - Birmingham

My client is seeking a skilled junior/intermediate electrical design engineer to join a dynamic team that wishes to pursue a secure and long-term career in electrical building services design. With experience and knowledge of working as an individual or as part of an electrical building services design team for an M&E contractor or consultant.

Responsibilities

  • Designing to performance specifications
  • Complying with the latest British Standards, CIBSE guides, Building Regulations, and relevant design guides.
  • Producing detailed electrical design documents such as layout drawings, sections, and elevations of coordinated MEP systems, LV and Comms schematics, cable calculations, and lighting calculations.
  • Attending design team meetings with main contractors, architects, consultant engineers, and other subcontractors.
  • Working under the supervision/guidance of a senior electrical designer.
  • Communicate with the mechanical design engineers to produce detailed designs in a timely manner.

Requirements/Software Experience

  • Amtech/Trimble cable calculations.
  • Relux or Dialux.
  • AutoCAD.
  • Revitt.
  • Extensive knowledge of UK building regulations.
  • Proven track record detailing experience of working within UK multi-residential new build schemes.
  • The ability to complete basic design tasks within a specific timeframe with minimal supervision & guidance.
  • Excellent professional, interpersonal, and communication skills.
