Reporting to the Design Manager, as an Electrical Designer you will be designing bespoke industrial control panels using AutoCAD Electrical, producing layout drawings and cable schedules, as well as compiling bill of materials for the control systems you design.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is looking to kickstart their career in an electrical engineering/EC&I role, with great training and career development opportunities available for the right candidate.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Drafting of control panel schematics and layout drawings inAutoCAD Electrical

  • Creation of control panel parts lists/bill of materials (BOMs)

  • Creation of cable schedules/block diagrams

  • Selection/allocation of component assemblies based on project requirements

  • Compilation of BOMs in Sage200

Skills & Experience (Required)

  • City & Guilds / Level 3 NVQ (or equivalent) in a relevant electrical/electronic subject

  • Understanding of basic electrical circuit theory

  • Previous experience using AutoCAD Electrical

  • Proficient in MS Office

  • Motivated, focused, and strong attention to detail

  • Self-starter and able to manage own workload

Skills & Experience (Desirable)

  • Strong understanding of electrical circuit theory

  • Previous experience working in an electrical/electronic role

  • Knowledge of relevant electrical standards such as BS 7671 and BS EN 60204

  • 18th Edition (BS7671) qualified

  • Full UK driving license
