Electrical Engineer - Manufacturing

Southwold, England

£35,000 - £45000

Information on the role

  • Assisting in the planning and execution of maintenance for equipment, adhering to all relevant regulations.
  • Responding swiftly to equipment breakdowns and supporting in diagnosing and repairing electrical and mechanical faults based on manufacturer specifications and company procedures.
  • Working alongside senior electricians to ensure all electrical and mechanical engineering tasks are completed securely and efficiently.
  • Supporting in the maintenance of a comprehensive register of electrical apparatus and assisting in periodic Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) based on risk assessments and HSE guidelines.
  • Complying with all risk assessments, COSHH regulations, and manual handling assessments during maintenance activities.
  • Assisting in maintaining the organization of the maintenance bay and ensuring the security of spares and apparatus.

What we’d like from you

  • Ideally, NVQ/BTEC qualification with an electrical bias and a working knowledge of the 17th/18th edition of the wiring regulations.
  • Basic skills or an interest in electronics.
  • Experience or exposure to mechanical aspects of maintenance work would be an advantage.
  • A solid understanding of Health & Safety legislation and practices.
  • Flexibility to adapt to various work situations and manage workloads according to company needs.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work together with colleagues.
  • A positive outlook, strong organizational skills, and proficiency in administrative tasks.
