Job Title: Electrical Engineer

Location: Cornhill, City of London

Remuneration: Hourly rate from £18 to £20

Contract Details: Temporary, Full Time

End Date: 14th October 2024

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure operational performance and safety of all mechanical and electrical systems in the building.
  • Conduct planned preventative maintenance and comply with relevant guidelines and regulations.
  • Complete tasks for critical electrical, mechanical, and HVAC services.
  • Carry out fault finding and conduct system testing.
  • Familiarise with and operate all business critical systems.
  • Liaise with and monitor activities of outside contractors.
  • Minimise plant failure and advocate proactive maintenance.
  • Deliver high-quality customer-focused service and comply with environmental, health, and safety standards.
  • Participate in additional training and best practise/DR drills.

Critical Competencies:

  • Relevant electrical apprenticeship and City & Guilds certificate.
  • Experienced in large complex multi-functioning HVAC buildings.
  • Knowledge of engineering operations in critical environments.
  • Familiarity with UPS and standby generator systems, building management systems, chilled and condenser water systems, and data centre power distribution.
  • Proficient in close control air-conditioning systems, air cooled chillers, load management and control systems, critical system environments, and permit to work processes.
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills and previous supervisory experience.

Our client, a renowned organisation in the commercial industry, is seeking an Electrical Engineer for an exciting temporary opportunity. As the Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the operational performance and safety of mechanical and electrical systems in a high-profile building in Cornhill, City of London.

In this role, you will conduct planned preventative maintenance, fault finding, and system testing. You will liaise with outside contractors, minimise plant failure, and deliver exceptional customer-focused service. Your expertise in large complex buildings, critical environments, and various electrical systems will be invaluable in ensuring the smooth running of the building.

To excel in this role, you should have a relevant electrical apprenticeship, along with City & Guilds certification. In addition, you must possess strong communication and customer-facing skills, and have a flexible and enthusiastic approach to your work. Supervisory experience and familiarity with permit to work processes are highly desirable.
