Electrical Engineer - Lightning Protection & Earthing Contractor
Our client, a leading independent contractor specialising in lightning protection, earthing services, surge protection maintenance, and specialist protection systems. With a mission to provide high-quality, reliable, and innovative solutions to safeguard people and infrastructure from electrical hazards.
They are now seeking an Electrical Engineer with a strong electrical bias and commercial electrical experience to help establish and grow their surge protection department. This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on professional to join our team and take a pivotal role in developing this aspect of our business.
Firstly, what's it in for you?
- £44,500 - £50,000 PA
- Monday - Thursday 6:00am - 4:00pm, Friday 6:00am - 3:00pm
- No weekend working
- 22 days holiday

Electrical Engineer - Lightning Protection & Earthing Contractor
Responsibilities
- Conduct site surveys to assess surge protection requirements
- Install, test, and maintain surge protection systems for commercial and industrial clients
- Provide technical advice and solutions to meet customer needs
- Collaborate with other departments to integrate surge protection with lightning and earthing systems
- Assist in the development of standard operating procedures and best practices for the department
- Work closely with clients and other stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered to high standards
- Maintain accurate documentation, including reports and risk assessments
- Undertake occasional home-based tasks to support departmental planning and development

Requirements
- Proven commercial electrical experience, including the installation of surge protection systems
- Strong technical knowledge of electrical systems, surge protection, and related safety standards
- Ability to work independently and manage your own workload
- Full UK driving license
Desirable
- Awareness or experience in the lightning protection or earthing industry.
