Location: Ashton-Under-Lyne

Salary: £35,000

Overview:

First Military Recruitment are currently seeking an Electrical Engineer on behalf of one of our clients.

As the Electrical Maintenance Engineer, you will be primarily responsible for working closely with a team of multi-disciplined engineers and multi-skilled shift craftspeople. Hours of work will be 7am – 5pm Monday to Thursday and 7am to 1pm Friday

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maximising plant up time and minimise plant down time.
  • Communicating at all levels of engineering and production departments the status of plants and ongoing projects
  • Investigating, reporting, and resolving repetitive engineering faults
  • Providing technical support to all departments ensuring safe and efficient maintenance
  • Maintaining the maintenance system logs, follow up actions, fault, and diagnosis.
  • Carrying out risk assessments, issuing permits to work and supervising engineering contractors
  • Designing, building, and commissioning control system upgrades and plant improvement projects
  • Carrying out inspection and testing of electrical installations and portable appliances
  • Organising and supervising planned work.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Have strong knowledge of Health & Safety legislation, ideally with relevant qualifications such as IOSH/NEBOSH (Preferred)
  • Hold previous experience working within a large site building, ideally within a manufacturing environment.
  • Have excellent people management skills. Previous roles could include being a team leader, supervisor, or manager.
  • 17th / 18th edition.
