Electrical Fitter - Marine & Shipbuilding

Plymouth, Devon, England

£24.57 Per hour PAYE or £29.42 per hour UMBRELLA

We are currently recruiting Electrical Fitters on a contract bases in Plymouth (Southwest) for a minimum of 6 month contract.

We are looking for Electricians to join the team that are at the forefront of supporting the Royal Navy fleet, working with our Surface ships Tag out team, you’ll play an integral role in ensuring the serviceability of world class warships and systems through isolation management during refit periods - working within multi-trade teams.

Key skills

  • We are looking for applicants who have electrical installation/maintenance experience preferably with experience of RN platforms.
  • If you can bring some technical skills and a safe working attitude, then we can provide you with excellent development opportunities.

Main Duties

Isolation management of a variety of electrical equipment that could include distribution, command, and control systems, such as weapons, navigation, and communications.

Work to electrical/engineering drawing and technical specifications as you isolate and make safe a variety of electrical systems for production to maintain, repair & overhaul.

Qualifications

  • Level 3 Apprenticeship or equivalent.
  • College LV3 qualifications in electrics
  • Experience with electrical isolation management preferably in the Marine environment

35 hours standard with a possibility of shift and overtime (25% paid extra if on shift)

All applicants will be required to obtain baseline MOD clearance in order to fulfil this role.
