We are seeking an experienced Electrical Product Specialist to join our well-established client based in Bridgend. As a Product Specialist (Sales), you will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive technical support to customers, both pre and post-sales. Your expertise will be instrumental in resolving technical inquiries, assisting with product installations, and providing ongoing support. Additionally, you will ensure the accuracy of technical documentation and wiring diagrams, supporting customers with precision throughout their journey with our company.

Key Responsibilities:

Build and Manage Technical Relationships:

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with technical departments of customers, key accounts, partners, and distributors.
  • Provide support, training, and after-sales service as needed.
  • Conduct periodic site visits to customer premises to offer hands-on support and gather insights into customer needs.
  • Proactively seek and utilize customer feedback to identify and implement product and process improvements.

Technical Support and After-Sales Service:

  • Collaborate with our technical teams in Denmark to implement and monitor fault and warranty processes.
  • Deliver prompt and effective technical support and address customer inquiries, ensuring exceptional service delivery pre and post-sales.

Sales Support and Marketing Activities:

  • Assist sales teams with product launches, marketing campaigns, demonstrations, trade events, and exhibitions.
  • Attend and support sales visits and other sales activities as required to engage and support potential and existing customers.

Technical Requirements Understanding and Market Intelligence:

  • Maintain a thorough understanding of customer technical requirements and stay updated on market trends, competitor products, and industry developments.
  • Provide insights to sales and product development teams on competitive products and market trends.

Training and Documentation Management:

  • Deliver comprehensive training and support to staff, customers, and end-users on product operation, demonstration, and installation.
  • Support partners with product installations and provide training on the installation process.
  • Maintain UK technical documentation, including wiring diagrams and installation instructions, ensuring accuracy and completeness.

Head Office Visits and Reporting:

  • Conduct regular visits to our head office in Denmark to stay updated on product developments and share key information from UK customers.
  • Provide regular reports to the Sales Manager on key account technical activities to facilitate informed decision-making and strategic planning.

Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Certificate or equivalent qualification in Auto Electrical & Mobile Electrical Principles, such as City & Guilds (C&G) or NVQ Level 3, or relevant industry experience.
  • Proficiency in interpreting technical diagrams and complying with Wiring Regulations, with the ability to design electrical systems accordingly.
  • Comprehensive understanding of various auxiliary power systems and configurations commonly used in vehicles.
  • Familiarity with the 18th edition regulations is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Demonstrated ability to comprehend and effectively demonstrate the entire range of products.
  • Willingness to travel nationally and internationally, often requiring overnight stays at short notice.
  • Experience in the commercial vehicle sector, with knowledge of industry trends and customer requirements.
  • Possession of a valid and clean UK driving license is essential.
