Electrical Shift Technician

Location: City of London

Salary: £51,000+

Be part of an exciting opportunity in London! As a Shift Technician, you will play a vital role in implementing Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), reactive maintenance, and small projects. Your expertise will ensure the smooth operation of electrical, fire life safety, and mechanical building services in accordance with my client's requirements.

What this job involves:

  • Take responsibility for the maintenance and reactive repairs of electrical, fire life safety, and mechanical building services and associated equipment.
  • Liaise with admin staff to ensure timely closures and completions of PPM and reactive tasks.
  • Report all engineering activity and incidents to the Shift Leader.
  • Ensure all PPM activity is completed within set SLA schedules, applying engineering standards and regulations to maximise operational effectiveness.
  • Adhere to engineering standards in accordance with Health and Safety at Work Act requirements.
  • Ensure onsite quality assurance procedures are followed and maintain accurate records/documentation.
  • Respond promptly and effectively to reactive maintenance issues and help desk requests.
  • Coordinate visiting specialist subcontractors and review engineering reports with the shift leader.
  • Maintain good working relations with all building users and respond positively to requests or instructions.

Desired experience:

  • Working knowledge of critical assets such as UPS, emergency power generation, air conditioning systems, and fire life safety.
  • HSE accredited/recognised training courses.
  • Experience in the electrical/mechanical aspects of commercial building assets and systems.
  • Understanding of building BMS controls.
  • Proven track record of excellence in a similar role.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Proactive attitude and approach.
