Job Opportunity - Electrical Technician or Senior Electrical Technician

Location: West Bromwich, West Midlands

Quest Employment is recruiting on behalf of a reputable, family-owned company based in West Bromwich. Our client specializes in organo-sulphur synthesis and high-pressure hydrogenation, providing organic chemistry services globally. Their products serve industries including Pharmaceutical, Agrochemical, and Specialty Chemicals.

Position: Electrical Technician or Senior Electrical Technician
Start Date: Immediate

Role Overview:
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a highly skilled Electrical Engineering team within a lower tier COMAH facility. We are looking for an experienced, qualified Electrical Technician.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform preventative and reactive electrical maintenance in an industrial setting.
  • Carry out electrical plant installation and modification.
  • Conduct statutory inspections.
  • Utilize Computerised Maintenance Management Systems.
  • Interpret equipment drawings, manuals, and technical information.
  • Adhere to company safety protocols and permit to work systems.
  • Have a good understanding of ATEX requirements (preferable).

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum RQF level 3 qualification (e.g., City & Guilds level 3) in a practical Electrical discipline.
  • Recognized Electrical apprenticeship preferred.
  • 18th edition electrical wiring regulations preferred.
  • Compex (Ex01-04) & (Ex05-06) qualification is advantageous but not essential.
  • Training in MEWP’s is advantageous.

What We Offer:

  • Competitive salary ranging from £33,276 to £35,016 depending on experience.
  • Additional payment for an electrical call-in rota system (minimum £1.6k per annum for a 1 in 4 rota) after obtaining appropriate site knowledge.
  • 25 days paid holiday plus UK Bank Holidays.
  • 40-hour work week (Monday to Friday, 8am to 4:30pm) with a 30-minute lunch break.
