Job Description
Adept Resourcing are working with a Chesterfield based company who supply cutting-edge test and measurement solutions to some of the world’s leading high-tech manufacturers as they look to recruit a Electronic Desing Engineer.
This role will report directly to the Design Manager and forms a key part of the Engineering Team.
The successful candidate will be tasked with taking engineering requirements from customers and designing bespoke test solutions that can be manufactured within time and cost constraints.
This will involve using both commercial off-the-shelf components and custom-designed interfaces. The role includes creating electronic and electrical schematics, layouts, PCB layouts, general assemblies, and fault finding to enable the manufacturing team to realize your designs.
This important role provides an opportunity to design and engineer a wide range of bespoke products, allowing our customers to benefit from high-quality engineered solutions.
Key Requirements
- Experience designing test equipment, automation, or control systems
- Experience with PCB digital and analogue circuit design using Altium
- Ability to create schematic drawings and diagrams
- Experience in system testing and fault finding
- Electronic design to manufacturing level
- Skilled in using PCB design software
Essential Criteria
- Proven track record in electronic design and engineering
- Ability to create engineering drawings / Ability to create complete PCB designs
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team
- Motivation and desire to contribute to a dynamic business
- Solid ability to work to tight timescales to deliver projects on time
- Ability to interpret customer requirements
- Ability to work within tight budgets and timescales
- Ability to create robust designs that can be manufactured
- Ability to self-manage to confidently achieve targets
- Ability to work in a multi-skilled design team
- Previous experience in an electrical design role
Desirable Criteria
- Experience with microcontrollers
- Previous experience working in one of the following industries: Aerospace, Defence, Oil & Gas, Automotive, or similar
- Proven track record of designing bespoke test equipment
