Head of Electronic Security Systems is a full-time role, ensuring Littlewood is maximising its potential in the ESS market and managing the operational side of our ESS Division and assisting on the Business Development side. ESS markets are considered to be high end sectors in arenas such as Utilities, Military and other heavily regulated, high levels to entry markets.

You will head up and be the face of Littlewood in the ESS Sector, working alongside our Business Development and estimating team. Littlewood has some fantastic growth opportunities in this sector, currently achieving around £3-4m in revenue but has the opportunities to grow to £10m+ over the next 2 years. We will be looking for a knowledge and experience of working as a Principle Contractor and Designer.

You will be required to manage and motivate an existing team and add to the team to deliver the growth opportunities we have.  You will be required to be able to fulfil the budget requirements for the Division.

Key Responsibilities


Work winning Responsibilities
  • Working with Littlewood’s current Directors & support staff to ensure that we are aware of all contract opportunities in the ESS sector.
  • Understand the market, who are the large customers, what are the challenges our customers are facing, how we can set ourselves up to meet our clients demands. 
  • Attend high level meetings, networking events and seminars, understand the initiatives and culture of major organisations from National Grid to National Highways and the principles that filter through as a consequence.
  • Generate enquiries.
  • Help our BD team prepare quotes providing advice on the operational side ensuring best quality presentations to clients.
Contract Management Responsibilities
  • Overall responsibility of how the contracts are managed through a team of Project Managers, Contract Managers and Supervisors. 
  • Manage and build a team capable of meeting our client requirements, ensuring contracts are executed smoothly. 
  • Ensure that we are working to industry-leading Health and Safety standards at both tier 1 and Tier 2 levels, having a good understanding of CDM and industry requirements.
  • Ensure we have a good understanding of industry training requirements and standards.
  • Ensuring that Contract mangers are efficient with Labour, Plant and materials, completing contracts on time and to budget.
  • Working with key suppliers to get best value on materials and plant. 
Commercial Responsibilities
  • Oversee the commercial side of the Division, with the support of a commercial team.
  • Ensure that monthly applications have been completed on time and capture all opportunities.
  • Ensure through the team programmes are updated to meet client and contractual requirements.
  • Ensure that all changes have been recorded and are submitted to the client in a clear and presentable way.
  • Oversee any account negotiations & maintain good client relationship. 
General 
  • Additional benefits that previous experience could bring to our business i.e. experience, relationships and general contacts.
  • Additional tasks requested by the board


Experience and Qualifications


  • Ability to lead, build, manage and motivate your team.
  • Ability to plan, implement and manage complex projects 
  • Strong multitasking skills and the ability to prioritise and be organised. 
  • Comfortable attending senior management meetings and seminars, interacting with customers and suppliers.
  • Managing contracts in the UK Security industry. 
  • Must demonstrate strong numeracy skills and have comfort with Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint. 
  •  An engaging, enthusiastic and pleasant personality with a professional demeanour. 
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
