Senior Electronics Design Engineer

Location: Sheffield

Employment Type: Full-time

Are you an experienced Electronics Design Engineer looking to take the next step in your career? Elevation Recruitment are working with a specialist manufacturer, based near Sheffield to help them find a skilled professional to drive innovation and excellence in their electronic product range.

Reporting to the Technical Manager, you’ll play a key role in shaping our current and future offerings, working collaboratively across departments to ensure we deliver top-quality solutions to customers worldwide.

Key Responsibilities:

? Lead analogue and digital PCB design, ensuring high standards across all projects.

? Work across the entire product lifecycle—from concept to launch, ensuring designs are successfully delivered into service.

? Ensure compliance with UK, EU, and US regulatory standards, bringing expertise in designing for compliance.

? Communicate complex engineering concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

? Take a hands-on approach to problem-solving, working directly on the bench to resolve technical challenges.

? Review, update, and redesign existing electronic products to enhance quality and safety.

? Support testing and development, ensuring products meet the latest standards and regulations.

? Produce essential documentation, including Wiring Diagrams and build instructions, to guide manufacturing and assembly.

? Specify, design, test, and integrate electronic equipment to meet project and company requirements.

? Develop maintenance and testing procedures to ensure all components and equipment function effectively.

? Experience in Assembler/BASCOM programming and EasyPC PCB design is desirable.

What We’re Looking For:

Proven experience in analogue and digital PCB design, including Power Supplies, DC Motor Controls, and Battery Chargers.

Strong fault-finding skills down to component level.

Understanding of mains voltage primary transformers and safety practices.

Experience working in small to medium businesses and collaborating across teams.

Degree (or equivalent) in Electronics Engineering.

Strong organisational and communication skills, with a proactive and problem-solving mindset.

Willingness to travel nationally and occasionally internationally.

Flexibility around working hours and ability to work at heights.

A current UK driving license is essential.
