Position: Electronics Technician

Location: Chorley

Salary: Up to £35,000

The Role: A position has now been created for an enthusiastic Electronics Technician to join a busy R&D team in the Chorley area. The successful Electronics Technician will be joining a growing engineering business and have the chance to work closely with experienced engineers from a variety of disciplines.

This role will best suit a HND or Degree qualified engineer who has experience with testing and repairing in-house designed electronic PCBs to component level and is looking to develop their engineering career with aspirations of becoming an electronics test engineer or electronics design engineer in the future.

You can expect your role to involve:

  • Electronics prototyping, assembling and testing for R&D
  • Assembly, preparation and use of new equipment.
  • Assisting with the design, building and maintenance of in-house functional test sets/rigs
  • PCB design and layout
  • Fault finding and bug fixing existing designs

Required skills and experience:

  • Experience of working with surface mount components.
  • Understanding of electronic schematics
  • Experience with electronics test equipment - Multi-meters, oscilloscopes, signal generators etc
  • Soldering and PCB rework skills
  • Degree within an engineering discipline

Desirable experience:

  • PCB design and layout
  • Electronic simulation software
  • Knowledge of analogue and digital circuits
