Embedded Linux Software Engineer - SpaceTech
Location: Surrey (Hybrid)
Type: Full-time
Compensation:

Embedded Linux Software Engineer required by pioneering SpaceTech company, that is rapidly expanding in the UK! This innovative company is renowned for its space-resilient computing infrastructure, powered by unique AI/ML processors. Their software-empowered systems bring Earth-like computing capabilities to space and have been successfully deployed in over 50 deep space and satellite missions, including collaborations with NASA and the European Space Agency.

As a global start-up with over 70 employees across the US and Europe, they are looking for passionate and talented individuals to join their cutting-edge projects. We are seeking an Embedded Linux Software Engineer to join their team and contribute to the development of next-generation space computing platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop the company's Space-Based Data Centres
  • Develop Linux-based embedded systems.
  • Design and architect the software stack across all layers - embedded, kernel, and user space.

Requirements:

  • B.Sc in Computer Science or Electronic Engineering.
  • 3+ years of R&D experience in C/C++.
  • Experience with embedded software stack: Firmware, Linux Kernel (Drivers), and Linux User-Mode.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of ARM processor architectures.
  • Experience with scripting languages (Bash, Python) and version control software like Git.
  • Deep understanding of cloud-based solutions from the provider side.
  • Previous experience with new board bring-up and building of a BSP.
  • Experience working with containers, virtual machines, and hypervisors.
