Spencer Clarke Group are seeking an Employee Relations Adviser for a Local Authority Client based in North London.

In this role, you will provide HR advice and support to schools, helping to resolve complex employee relations issues and drive positive change across the education sector.

About the role:

You will be tasked with delivering key strategic objectives:

  • Provide HR advice on complex staffing issues, including discipline, capability, absence, and grievance cases.
  • Collaborate with trade unions to promote a positive working environment and resolve conflicts.
  • Support and advise on restructures, redundancies, TUPE transfers, and redeployment.
  • Prepare for and support employment tribunals, including providing advice on Dismissal Appeals.
  • Monitor trends in employee relations and recommend improvements to policies and procedures.

About you:

The successful candidate will have the following skills / experience:

  • Experience providing high-quality HR advice and guidance on complex employment issues.
  • Experience handling and managing employee relations casework, including discipline, grievance, capability, and absence management.
  • Knowledge and experience in preparing for and supporting employment tribunals, including advising at dismissal appeal hearings.
  • Experience in monitoring trends related to employee relations cases and recommending policy and procedural improvements.

What's on offer:

Salary: £29+ph

*may negotiate higher for exceptional candidates, based on experience*

Contract type: 3-6, months minimum, with a high likelihood of extension

Hours: Monday - Friday, 35 hours per week
