Employment Advisor

  • Salary: Up to £28,420 per annum

We are seeking an Employment Advisor to join our dedicated team, providing crucial support and guidance to unemployed individuals. This role involves coordinating and delivering advice, guidance, and training interventions to help people achieve skills and progress to employment, training, and education. The ideal candidate will have experience working with vulnerable customer groups and a strong understanding of the local labour market.

Day to Day of the Role:
  • Work as part of a team to coordinate and deliver support that meets the needs of unemployed individuals.
  • Operate referral and liaison procedures with agencies such as JCP, local referral partners, colleges, employers, training providers, and recruitment agencies.
  • Establish and deliver one-to-one and group activities, including initial assessments, inductions, job search sessions, and follow-up appointments.
  • Identify individual learning needs and plan training and other interventions for each customer.
  • Facilitate learning in groups to improve employability and assist customers in planning their career paths.
  • Report any safeguarding concerns relating to individuals.
  • Participate in activities that support the work of the team, such as tender/bid writing and development of new products/services.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Experience in training, guidance, advice, and counselling environments.
  • Previous experience working with vulnerable groups.
  • Knowledge of the local labour market, recruitment methods, and growth industries.
  • Understanding of welfare to work and the customer base.
  • Proficiency in IT, including MI systems, spreadsheets, diary management, and data security.
  • Ability to work to Key Performance Indicators and challenging targets.
  • Strong networking skills and the ability to promote the organisation effectively.
