This is a hybrid role, leaning more towards home-based work (approximately 3 days at home and 2 days in the office or on outreach). The charity is an Investors in People-accredited organisation, known for providing a supportive and positive workplace culture. They are delivering a contract in partnership with the NHS Talking Therapies programme, helping individuals with mental health support needs to return to work.

Referrals for this role predominantly come via GPs and the NHS. About two-thirds of the job seekers you'll work with are currently employed but may be signed off due to mental health challenges. Your role will be to support them in returning to work, which could include advising on phased returns, reasonable adjustments, and occasionally advocating for them with their employer. For those looking for a career change, you’ll help them explore their career aspirations, assess options, and provide practical support, such as CV writing, job searching, and interview preparation.

The remaining third of clients are not currently in work but are in a position where they’re ready to return to the workforce. In these cases, you’ll focus on helping them explore new career options and re-enter the job market.

Your clients will be based in Bedfordshire, with most preferring video calls. However, during your 1–2 days of office or outreach per week, you will have opportunities to meet clients in person, usually at community locations such as NHS hubs. You’ll also collaborate with NHS teams to discuss new referrals to the programme and may occasionally attend team meetings in Cambridge or Huntingdon. Typically, you will manage a caseload of around 20 job seekers, conduct 3–4 mentoring or coaching sessions per day, and take on about 10 new clients per month.

You must have experience as an Employment Advisor or in a similar role (e.g., Job Coach, Careers Advisor, Employment Consultant).  A valid driver’s licence and access to your own car.
