Enova, founded in 2005, is part of the listed company Vitec Software Group AB. We specialize in developing, delivering, and maintaining energy management software for large businesses as well as providing grid management services. The head-office is located in Capelle aan den IJssel in The Netherlands.
The team of 16 highly skilled people consists of energy managers, developers, support, and sales/account managers.

As Enova has already acquired first customers in the UK we are now looking for a local

Energy Manager

In this position, you will be responsible for the daily management of the energy side of the operation at our UK customers.
In-depth training on the job will be made available to help you to develop the necessary skills and know-how. This will take place digitally as well as via internships in The Netherlands.

About the position

Enova has acquired its first customers in the United Kingdom in recent years. Those were serviced from The Netherlands so far. In view of expected further expansion Enova is looking to set up a local subsidiary in the UK. You as Energy Manager would become part of the local team that should, initially, also consist of a UK Head of Business and a Product Developer. In years to come this team should further expand given the expected opportunity in the United Kingdom.

Examples of what your job will include:

  • Day ahead nomination of expected consumption and/or production
  • Running electricity consuming and/or producing units on the imbalance market
  • Sharing trading results with customers on a regular basis
  • Analyzing trading results and pro-actively trying to improve them
  • Supporting customers structurally by translating results in points for improvement
  • Budgeting future energy cost/ revenues
  • Consulting customers on energy-related investments

You will report to the Head of Business UK who acts as bridge between Enova UK and Enova Netherlands. Also, you will work in close collaboration with the Dutch energy managers to share knowledge and skills.

About you

The ideal candidate is intelligent, curious, results-oriented, committed, has great analytical skills, and loves a mental challenge. You are confident, allowing you to support your customers in an independent manner.

We are looking for someone who is a dedicated and a passionate professional, that understands the value of a good relationship with customers but is also independent. As an energy manager, you are proactive, cooperative and solution-oriented as you are constantly looking for opportunities to maximize the energy results of customers. Moreover, you have a strong belief in a sustainable future as you are consulting on energy-related investment.

Also, you can translate financial results and complex energy cases in clear terms to customers, whereby you focus on individuals’ needs.

Given our industry and your role, it is important to have a technical understanding of energy production and consumption units (CHPs, PV, growing lights for example) as well as the energy markets. Additionally, you are eager to learn more about the evolving customer needs and energy markets.

You are data driven, and are an experienced Excel and/or Python user to do various analyses.
Also, you can effectively communicate with the IT back-office to further improve the Enova platform that you will be working with. You also have an interest in growing Enova’s current products and services, and are motivated by sharing new ideas with the rest of the company. The right candidate is fluent in English and live in central England or agreeing to move there.

You would work part of the time from home, partly from the office or be visiting customers across England.

Renumeration

Annual salary will be based on age and experience. The package will include an incentive based on achieved goals. Either a company car or a mileage allowance will also be included.

Dutch company Enova was founded in 2005 and is based in Capelle aan den IJssel. The company specializes in developing, delivering, and maintaining energy management software for large businesses and providing grid management services.

The company offers a complete energy management software package through its SaaS (Software As a Service) Energy Management Software (EMS). Additionally, Enova’s Grid Management Service (GMS) provides grid balancing services for transmission system operators, by pooling the reserves of its customers’ energy consumption and/or production units.

Enova currently has > 250 customers in the Netherlands, UK, and France. The GMS business has been growing rapidly due to the increasing need to balance power supply, while the EMS business has also seen steady growth. Enova’s net sales averaged € 28 mio over the fiscal years 2021 and 2022. The client base today is mainly in the Dutch horticultural sector.
