Job Title: Engineering Manager - Complex Electronics

Location: West London - Hybrid Working

Salary: £DOE - We are booking interviews next week!

Key Skills: A background in sonar/acoustics, complex electronics and extensive experience in work package management.

***Must be able to hold/have current SC Security Clearance***

As an Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for delivering engineering activities on time, within budget, and to high-quality standards across the entire portfolio. Leading a multi-disciplinary team, you will ensure that all solutions meet requirements and are fit for purpose. The expanding portfolio includes new product development, in-service support, and products already in production.

The Role:

So, what will you be doing as an Engineering Manager?

  • Collaborate with the International Programmes Directors, System Design Authorities, and Project Managers
  • Deliver engineering activities on time, within budget, and to high-quality standards across the entire portfolio
  • Lead a multi-disciplinary team to ensure all solutions meet requirements and are fit for purpose
  • Manage a diverse portfolio, encompassing new product development, in-service support, and products in production
  • Ensure effective oversight and management of all engineering aspects within the portfolio

What are we looking for in our next Engineering Manager?

  • Proven experience in managing multiple teams
  • Expertise in engineering estimation, with the ability to review, challenge, and justify estimates
  • Proficiency in creating Work Breakdown Structures and defining delivery strategies
  • Skilled in producing comprehensive engineering plans, identifying, communicating, and managing dependencies, assumptions, risks, and opportunities
  • In-depth understanding of the various design gates in a project, from bid to full-scale production readiness review
  • Background in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, with a solid understanding of software and systems engineering
  • Experience in coaching and/or mentoring
