Engineering Director

We are seeking a Global Director of Engineering to join our award-winning FinTech organisation. As part of the senior leadership team, you will be instrumental in developing and overseeing the technical roadmap, aligning it with our company goals. This role is ideal for a strategic thinker with a hands-on approach and a passion for innovative technology and collaboration.

• Scale up engineering teams rapidly, ensuring effective leadership and growth.
• Lead by example, demonstrating hands-on experience in software development and architecture, particularly with Microservices.
• Collaborate with the C-suite to enhance our technology roadmap and product evolution.
• Manage efforts across different geographical locations and time zones, maintaining organisation and collaboration.
• Oversee the technological functions of the business, create project plans, manage implementation, and act as a liaison across teams.
• Take ownership of problems or opportunities, driving execution and support with a mission-focused mindset.

• Minimum of 8+ years in a leadership position, ideally from a software engineering background focusing on C#/.NET.
• Experience building and leading multiple teams of at least 30 engineers.
• Must have a FinTech background, with a preference for experience in Exchange/Broker/Trading.
• Deep understanding of Microservice architecture.
• Experience with high-performance, high concurrency, high availability, and high scalability system design.
• Proven leadership qualities in both larger organisations and start-up/scale-up environments.
• Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and strong strategic and problem-solving skills.
• Degree educated, BSc or above is ideal.
