Engineering Draughtsperson - Siemens NX

We are looking for candidates with experience in the following areas:

• Mechanical Engineering (Automotive, off-highway, Aviation)
• Design Life Cycle (Automotive, off-highway, Aviation)
• Validation / Testing & Reporting

Our Coventry Engineering Centre is responsible for the design, validation, and production of FIE components for customers across Europe, including CAT, Cummins, Volvo Truck, Volvo PENTA, MAN, Kohler, and GM.

The organisation is divided into four key groups:

1. Application Customer Support: Small teams spread across Europe.
2. System Team: Supports the performance of the system, including rail pressure and injector calibration.
3. Component Engineers: Ensure the components' design and usage meet customers' performance and life requirements.
4. Test Team: Manages engineering responsibilities in our Test Facilities.

The teams work closely to complete validation and solve customer issues.

In this role, you will:

• Deliver high-quality drawings for injectors, high-pressure fuel pumps, and associated sub-components.
• Create or modify 2D drawings and 3D models using Siemens NX CAD software.
• Manage drawing data within Siemens Teamcenter PLM.
• Check drawings against standards and requirements, and re-draft as necessary.
• Drive output through the approval process to meet agreed schedules.
• Capture process and drawing improvement opportunities.
• Self-improve through the review process to fully understand drawing standards and rules.

• Degree or equivalent (2:2 or higher in Mechanical, Automotive, or Electronics Engineering) or relevant qualifications and experience in engineering technical drawing.
• Clear thinker and good communicator.
• Demonstrates initiative and a proactive attitude.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Takes ownership of tasks.
• Experience with 2D and 3D drawing, ideally using Siemens NX CAD and Siemens Teamcenter PLM.
• Prior experience in an engineering draughtsperson role, preferably with injectors and high-pressure fuel pumps, though other fields will be considered.
• Knowledge of relevant engineering drawing standards.

Our company has heavily invested in diesel technology, with three test rigs to simulate engine conditions and measure detailed component performance, as well as a component inspection laboratory to analyse wear and deterioration of returned components. We see a strong future in diesel for off-highway and heavy-duty applications.
