Engineering Teacher
  • Hourly Rate: £25-35 (including holiday pay)
  • Location: Derby
  • Job Type: Temporary, Part-time (23 hours per week)

We are seeking an Engineering Teacher to deliver high-quality education to Rolls Royce apprentices at a college in Derby. This temporary role requires a commitment of 23 hours per week over 5 days, focusing on a range of engineering units. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering and a passion for teaching.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Teach various engineering units to Rolls Royce apprentices, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of the subject matter.
  • Prepare and deliver lessons on:
    • EAL - AMEDK3-005 Mechanical Principles of Engineering Systems
    • EAL - AME3/012 Advanced Manufacturing Techniques
    • EAL - AME3/017 Mechanical Engineering Principles
    • BTEC Unit 7 Engineering Principles (Level 2)
    • BTEC Unit 2 Engineering Principles (Level 3)
  • Assess and evaluate students’ progress and provide constructive feedback.
  • Adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of individual apprentices.
  • Maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment that fosters student engagement.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Mechanical Engineering HNC/D or higher qualification.
  • Ideally a Level 3 Award in Education and Training.
  • Level 2 qualification in English and Maths.
  • Enhanced DBS certificate on the update service, or willingness to obtain one.
