Engineering Manager

£50,000 - £60,000 DOE   

Monday – Friday (Full-Time)

Our reputable leading manufacturer within the FMCG industry are currently looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to join their team.  This position will work with managers, staff, and a team of engineers to drive continuous improvement and deliver planned preventative maintenance and operational engineering to optimise plant availability and reliability to ensure full operating optimisation.

Main Responsibilities of the Engineering Manager       

  • Champion the engineering team’s awareness of the companies strategy, visions, objectives, and initiatives.
  • Promote continuous improvement through working practices, problem solving, and root cause analysis.
  • Set, manage, and report against “core” engineering key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Proactively address performance issues and capitalise on opportunities to improve processes, and procedures.
  • Lead the engineering team in an effective way which optimises the allocation of resources to ensure the achievement of agreed goals within agreed budgets.
  • Work with colleagues to identify and provide experts to support the development and delivery of training to all production staff regarding the effective operation of new equipment.
  • Contribute to and implement business continuity plans and actions whilst responding to incidents and implementing learning-based events that improve responses and maximise future impact.
  • Negotiate, set, and monitor the “spare” and “critical” parts list in ways that ensures that there is an adequate provision for purchasing the parts needed.
  • Lead and monitor the completion of engineering activities in ways that ensures continuity and prevents and slows down the production time.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor the application of all Company policies and when needed oversee remedial actions that ensure the implementation of safe working practices that meet recognised safety standards.

Experience and Skills required

  • Possess proven experience of working in a manufacturing role (Preferably within the FMCG Industry)  
  • Possess the proven knowledge and skills needed to problem solve, identify root causes of issues/concerns, deliver services within agreed budgets, and drive culture change throughout the Company.
  • Possess the IOSH or NEBOSH qualification.
  • Possess a proven ability to drive and lead a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Possess a proven ability to communicate clearly, set objectives, and provide feedback that drives process improvements etc.
