My client is currently undertaking a period of growth and is looking for an Engineering Manager to drive engineering performance improvements, and lead a team of 7 engineers, to strive for world-class engineering and maintenance excellence.

As an Engineering Manager you will be responsible for ensuring that all planned and reactive maintenance duties are completed and accountable for the delivery of engineering projects across the site. You will also promote and maintain effective channels of communication between the engineering team and other company departments including production, quality control and sales.

Duties and responsibilities include:

  • Help to recruit, line manage and develop engineering team members to be effective in their roles, providing clear communication and expectations to all team members
  • Ensure that the Engineering Team carry out all duties in a safe and efficient manner
  • Develop and implement a standardized maintenance strategy to ensure that the productive capacity of the plant is optimised and improved for the ever-changing needs of the business
  • Monitor operational efficiency of all plant and equipment, identifying areas of under-performance or opportunity and improvements.
  • Project manage maintenance-related projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget
  • Work with the Operations Director and production and technical colleagues to propose and plan the introduction of new equipment, agreeing project specifications, consulting and negotiating with external suppliers

The successful Engineering Manager will have:

  • Proven experience in an agricultural or FMCG sector
  • In depth technical knowledge of engineering principles and practices
  • Proven knowledge and experience of continuous improvement methodologies
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Extensive people management experience
  • A commitment to sustainability and a forward-thinking approach
