Five Education is looking to recruit a Behaviour Specialist English & Humanities Teacher. This is for a specialist setting for young people with SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) needs. The school is a specialist Alternative Provision school set in the Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole area.
The children have SEMH challenges such as depression and social anxiety. Some of them have experienced Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs).
The person applying for this role should be able to demonstrate experience of teaching in a Pupil Referral Unit, or similar setting. You will need to be confident in dealing with challenging behaviour and have a resilient nature. You will need to be able to establish an excellent rapport with hard-to-reach pupils. You will have the ability to teach a Humanities and English specification KS1-KS$.

The work is 5 days a week, term time only and the hours are 8:30-15:30.

Responsibilities and duties:
Teach a Humanities and English specification
Support 1:1 in class and differentiate tasks to ensure achievement for all pupils
Help the pupils to access the curriculum by understanding their learning needs
Make learning fun, enjoyable and accessible
Support the pupils when they are struggling, and help them to calm down and remain focussed

Essential Criteria:
2 years worth of references, 1 has to be working with children or vulnerable adults (needs to be recent and this could be paid or volunteer work)
A relevant DBS/Police checks.
Able to work between 08.30-15.30, 5 days a week
Evidence of experience teaching/ teaching children with SEND/ SEMH
Evidence of a teaching qualification or working towards one.

The day is 7 hours with an unpaid lunch break. Your daily rate of pay would be £120.00* but with a potential to earn more based on level of experience.
