English Lecturer

We are seeking an English Lecturer to deliver GCSE and Functional Skills English courses. This role is ideal for a dedicated educator who is passionate about English literature and language and is committed to helping students achieve their academic goals.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Prepare and deliver high-quality lessons in GCSE and Functional Skills English.
  • Assess, record, and report on the development, progress, and attainment of students.
  • Provide constructive feedback and guidance to students on their academic work.
  • Develop and adapt teaching materials to cater to a range of abilities.
  • Maintain a stimulating and safe learning environment.
  • Attend departmental meetings and contribute to the development of the curriculum.
  • Keep up-to-date with changes in the curriculum and developments in best practice.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • A recognised teaching qualification in the subject area.
  • Experience teaching GCSE and Functional Skills English.
  • Strong knowledge of the English curriculum and assessment requirements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to engage and inspire students of varying abilities.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development.
