The Role: As an English Teacher with Responsibility for Developing Confident Literate Learners, you will:

• Lead Literacy Initiatives: Strategically plan and implement literacy programs across the school, ensuring all pupils build strong foundations in reading, writing, and oracy.
• Collaborate Effectively: Work closely with Heads of Department, SENCO, and the Senior Leadership Team to foster a cohesive approach to literacy.
• Teach Across Key Stages: Deliver high-quality lessons from Year 7 to A Level, covering both English Language and Literature.
• Innovate in the Classroom: Develop rich, creative lessons that cater to all pupils and ignite a passion for English.
• Potential Head of Year Role: Opportunity to take on additional responsibility as Head of Year.

Key Responsibilities:

• Drive improvements in literacy across the curriculum.
• Stay abreast of current research and apply best practices in literacy education.
• Support and lead extra-curricular activities and student interventions.
• Maintain high standards of teaching and learning, contributing to the school's strong academic results.

Requirements:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a degree in English or a related field.
• 1-3 years of experience as an English Teacher at secondary level.
• Proven ability to conduct annual reviews and manage Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs).
• Excellent subject knowledge and a commitment to continuous professional development.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience in student advocacy and key working roles.
