English Teacher

We are seeking an English Teacher to join our dedicated team. The successful candidate will implement and deliver a broad, balanced, and differentiated curriculum, and contribute to the development of students and the academy’s curriculum area.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Plan and deliver engaging English lessons, developing resources and syllabuses in line with curriculum requirements.
  • Monitor and support the overall progress and development of students, both academically and personally.
  • Act as a form tutor, providing guidance and support to a designated group of students.
  • Maintain high standards of education and behaviour within the classroom, creating a positive learning environment.
  • Assess, record, and report on the development, progress, and attainment of students.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and other stakeholders to support student development.
  • Participate in staff development activities and performance management processes to enhance teaching practices.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Hold QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent and a relevant undergraduate degree.
  • Experience in teaching at secondary level, ideally including experience in multi-ethnic urban schools and working in an 11-18 school.
  • Knowledge of National Curriculum requirements at KS3 and KS4.
  • Strong understanding of effective teaching and learning strategies.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken.
  • Proficiency in ICT, ideally including the use of interactive whiteboards.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and maintain positive relationships with all staff.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills.
  • A commitment to high expectations and equality of access for all students.
