Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) Coordinator

This is a great opportunity to develop and implement systems and bring your experience to life, in this newly created role. We are looking for someone who has the NEBOSH qualification and has worked in a similar role.

As EHS coordinator you'll be a key part of the operations team, supporting us in raising the profile of EHS and improving the safety culture of the business. The primary responsibility will be to ensure adequate risk assessment and hazard evaluations are completed, and actions taken to manage and reduce risk. This will result in actions to monitor and manage the site grounds, facilities and business management systems to ensure EHS and security is adequate.

The role will include elements of health and safety and environmental systems.

Duties will include:

• Ensure that suitable and sufficient risk assessments are completed, reviewed and their outcomes actioned on routine and non-routine activities within the business.
• Identification of legal and other compliance obligations, assessment of compliance against them and identifying actions to address gaps.
• Undertake routine audits across all areas and functions within scope of responsibility, reporting findings to management and producing action plans to address gaps.
• Improving the system for reporting of incidents including unsafe conditions and near misses, and increase the reporting of the same to support injury reduction.
• Maintenance of a COSHH inventory, risk assessments of the use of these substances, and working with procurement to assure that only approved substances are sourced.
• Emergency preparedness and response, risk evaluation and procedure implementation including fire, first aid and security.
• Producing an integrated Health, Safety and Environmental management system compliant with ISO 45001 and ISO14001.
