The quality of our analysis starts with you!

Anglian Water collect and analyse hundreds of samples everyday. We ensure the water our customers consume is safe and the water that's released back in to the environment is free from harmful substances that could be damaging.

What will you be doing?

As the Environmental Sampler, you'll join a team of field based samplers who play a crucial part in the water monitoring and analysis process, obtaining samples from rivers and Anglian Water's Water Recycling Centres, including sampling final effluent.

With every sample you take it's important that it's recorded and monitored in line with our regulatory procedures and is carried out in a timely, but safe, manner. Working to strict quality assurance procedures and accredited methodology utilising calibrated equipment, in order for the samples to be transported back and monitored in the laboratories to ensure compliance with Environment Agency Regulations for Operator Self Monitoring (OSM) and Urban Wastewater Treatment Regulations (UWWTR).

Our laboratory and customers rely heavily on your high level of service. You'll be provided with a van and will represent Anglian Water in a professional and approachable manner. You'll need to enjoy working with people and building working relationships.

If you are interested in working within the water industry, enjoy being out on the road and want to join a company that can offer you a high standard of training and career development then come on board and share your inquisitive mind with our team.

What do you need?

You'll be a reliable and professional individual, who has obtained a scientific qualification.

You'll need to be comfortable with manual lifting and driving throughout the day. This role will find you working in a variety of environments, therefore a flexible and can do attitude is essential.

The ability to work within a defined method and record information accurately means you'll need focus and a strong attention to detail. Successful candidates will enjoy driving and working on their own whilst working within a larger team. You should thrive in a time critical role, be self-motivated and able to work in an organised manner ensuring all work is undertaken as specified by our methods and procedures.

Experience working with environmental samples would be advantageous.

Anglian Water is a 365 day a year operation. You will have a flexible approach to your role and be required to take part in a standby rota, which will include weekend and evening sampling. Due to the standby element, you must live within a reasonable distance from the Huntingdon area.
