Location: Bournmouth
Pay: £14.00 per hour
Hours: Full-time, 50 hours per week, Monday to Friday, covering 1 weekend in every 4

Waste Investigations Support & Enforcement (WISE) collaborates with Local Authorities to tackle littering and fly-tipping issues. Using advanced technology and extensive industry expertise, WISE is a trusted partner in maintaining clean and safe boroughs.

Role Overview - Environmental Support & Enforcement Team Manager:

As an Environmental Support & Enforcement Team Manager, you'll lead patrols, enforce legislation, and serve as a brand ambassador for both the local authority and WISE. You'll manage a team, ensure continuous service delivery, and engage with the public on environmental crime prevention.

Key Responsibilities - Environmental Support & Enforcement Team Manager:

  • Leadership: Act as the first point of contact for clients, representing the local authority and WISE.
  • Patrolling: Conduct borough patrols according to the deployment strategy.
  • Investigations: Investigate complaints and document outcomes thoroughly.
  • Equipment Management: Ensure all team equipment is signed in and out daily.
  • Scheduling: Cover for team absences to maintain exceptional service delivery.
  • Vehicle Inspections: Complete daily vehicle inspection forms before driving any company vehicle.
  • Public Engagement: Educate the community about environmental crimes and issue Fixed Penalty Notices as needed.
  • Court Appearances: Attend court and provide evidence when required.

Ideal Candidate - Environmental Support & Enforcement Team Manager:

  • Excellent Communicator: Engage effectively with the public in demanding situations.
  • Initiative: Work independently and as part of a team.
  • Outdoor Ready: Comfortable working on foot in all weather conditions.
  • Detail-Oriented: Clear and concise writing skills for reports and documentation.
  • Physically Fit: Capable of prolonged foot patrols.
  • Trained: Complete the Enviro Crime Induction Course and demonstrate competence in independent patrols.
  • Driving Licence: Preferred but not required.

Additional Information - Environmental Support & Enforcement Team Manager:

  • Schedule: 10-hour shifts, Monday to Friday, with weekend availability (1 weekend in every 4).
  • Benefits: 28 days of annual leave (including bank holidays).
