Job Role: Estimator
Location: Leicester
Salary: up to £35k

Job Role Responsibilities:

  • Analyse and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for machining and fabrication projects.
  • Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain pricing for materials and services.
  • Work closely with the sales and production teams to ensure accurate quoting and project feasibility.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Maintain and update estimating databases for materials, labour, and processes.
  • Communicate effectively with customers to clarify requirements and present quotations.
  • Monitor market trends and pricing to stay competitive in the industry.

The Candidate:

  • Proven experience in estimating within a machining, fabrication, or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of machining processes, fabrication techniques, and materials.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
  • Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Attention to detail and a proactive approach to work.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
