Job Specification: Estimator
Location: Derbyshire
Overview:
We are seeking a proactive and experienced Estimator, or a Quantity Surveyor that can estimate, to join our main contracting team for an immediate start. Specializing in retail fit-out, our current focus is on supermarkets and food & beverage projects. Due to an increased workload, we require an Estimator who can quickly integrate into our team and manage full estimating duties.
Key Responsibilities:
Estimating Duties:
Undertake comprehensive estimating responsibilities for retail fit-out projects.
Prepare and manage competitive tenders, typically with a 2-week turnaround, extending up to 6 weeks for more complex projects.
Package jobs efficiently, identifying and addressing any gaps in information.
Work with spreadsheets and other estimating software to ensure accurate and detailed costings.
Collaboration:
Work closely with the commercial team and Quantity Surveyors.
Communicate effectively with team members to ensure project requirements are met.
Site Visits:
(If a QS) Travel to various UK-wide sites as required to gather project information and ensure accurate estimates.
Qualifications and Experience:
Experience in estimating within the retail fit-out sector is highly desirable.
Accepting applications from Quantity Surveyors with relevant estimating experience.
Proficient in using spreadsheets and other estimating tools.
Ability to work independently and hit the ground running.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Salary and Benefits:
Salary is dependent on experience (DOE).
First stage interviews will be conducted over Teams, with the second stage in person.
